My Commitment to Students

I will treat each student with dignity and respect, and without discrimination of any kind as it may relate to ability status, age, class, color, culture, education level, ethnicity, family status, gender identity or expression, immigration status, language, military service, national origin, neurodiversity, political beliefs, pregnancy, profession, race, size, religion, sex, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic status.

I will encourage, guide, and develop the musical potential of each student.

I will encourage questions and conversation, and I will respect my student’s ideas.

I will treat each student as a unique individual.

I will clearly communicate the expectations of my studio.

I will respect the personal integrity and privacy of my students unless I am concerned about a student’s safety or wellbeing or the law requires disclosure.

I will be mindful of the effect that my words and actions may have on my students.

I will remain receptive to feedback.

I commit to my own personal growth as a musician, teacher, and human, so that I may be the best possible teacher for my students.
